29 July 2022
Professional grooming at The Happy Dog Hub includes brushing, washing, drying, and trimming or clipping, with optional services like ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression. Grooming benefits include reduced shedding, matted hair, and debris, helping pets regulate body temperature. Various clipping techniques are available, such as sanitary trims, teddy bear cuts, and schnauzer cuts, depending on pet needs. Grooming frequency depends on the breed and coat type, with regular brushing recommended. Shorter summer cuts aren’t always ideal, as they may lead to sunburn or hypothermia.

Dog Grooming – Bathing & Brushing
22 July 2022
Bathing and brushing are essential for maintaining a healthy coat and skin. Bathing should be done every 2 weeks or as needed, using pet-approved shampoos. Always choose natural, hypoallergenic products suited for pets. Brushing frequency varies by coat type, with smooth coats needing brushing every 3 weeks, and long or double coats weekly. Regular brushing prevents matting. For some pets, trimming certain areas like eyes, chin, and toes may be necessary. Use positive reinforcement with treats to make grooming enjoyable for your pet.

Dental Health for Dogs & Dental Disease.
29 May 2019
Dental disease in dogs begins with plaque buildup, which can harden into tartar and cause inflammation, leading to gingivitis and potential tooth loss. Untreated infections can spread, affecting overall health. Regular brushing, a dental care diet, dental treats, and water additives can help prevent dental disease. Professional cleaning may be necessary for dogs with severe issues. Good dental care prevents pain, tooth loss, bad breath, and organ damage, making it essential for your dog’s health.

Grooming your Dog.
Pets require basic home care to maintain healthy skin, including regular brushing to prevent mats and remove dust and dander. Dogs should be bathed every 2 weeks to 3 months using pet-specific shampoos. To bathe a dog, brush first, prepare supplies, and use warm water to soak the coat. After shampooing and conditioning, towel-dry and use a cool hairdryer if necessary. Gently remove excess moisture from the ears with cotton wool, avoiding water in the ear canal.
